オーストラリアへ3年間のカレッジ留学後、外資系キャビンアテンダントとして約10年乗務。
乗務員時代から始めたヨガに魅了され、国内外のヨガスタジオやワークショップに参加し練習を深めていく。
ヨガ講師歴10年、ヨガ通訳歴4年。
スタジオや企業にて、バイリンガルヨガ、ハタヨガ、マタニティヨガ、産後ヨガ講師として活動すると共に、ヨガ講師養成講座の講師、テキスト執筆、ヨガ通訳としても活躍中。
今までも、そしてこれからもヨガの一生徒として学びを深め、日常生活の中でヨガのエッセンスをちりばめ、日々の生活の中で小さな幸せに感謝しながら、2児の母として自然体育児と仕事のバランスを心がけ毎日をおくる。

Kitty, a former international flight attendant, started to practice Yoga after being introduced to Ashtanga yoga by friends. She has attended classes and workshops in Japan and overseas, which had a great influence on her and lead to her decision to become a Yoga translator as well as a Yoga instructor. Kitty looks at Yoga as an essential part of her life and she continues to strive to deepen her experience and knowledge.
Kitty incorporates the essence of Yoga into her daily life and appreciates the little things that bring happiness to everyday life, while maintaining the balance between her work and being the mother of two young children.

I have had the pleasure of working with Kitty Thompson while she translated twice for my Maternity Teacher Training and for a Cacao Ceremony - all at Under the Light Studio in Tokyo. She met with me in advance to ensure that she was well prepared, and also spent extra time with Yoga Journal writers for an upcoming article on my work. Kitty was aware of and attentive to my and the students’needs. My teaching is not easy to translate because it goes beyond asana technique to include philosophical ideas and poetic explanations. From the students' homework, I realized they understood very well my teaching from Kitty’s translation. She truly was my partner in the teaching. I was introduced to Kitty (Hiromi) Thompson by a colleague of mine who highly recommended Kitty and knew that she would be a perfect fit for the yoga workshops that I teach. We met briefly before she helped me translate/interpret and from that first meeting we hit it off. Her translating/interpreting was efficient, clear and I could tell that the students understood what I was saying by how they were participating/practicing yoga in the workshop.
